Chuggington Birthday Party

Happy Birthday Gracie!! I think Chase told her that everytime he saw her and before each bite of cake he had. Gracie had the coolest Chuggington party, tracks on the floor, train signals, a tunnel, clowns, it was an awesome party!!!!

Chase was in total heaven, not only was Chuggington party cool, but he was in shock with the playroom. Dora on one wall and Toy Story characters on another, and every toy he could ever want was in that room...

We finally got to view our Christmas pictures online! The day after we took our pictures, the computer crashed,and for whatever reason, they never got uploaded to their computer website. I went to take Kaylee for her 2 month pictures the other day, and told them of the problem and of course it was fixed immediately! Probably because they were wanting me to buy more pictures, however I just wanted them online so I could put them on my blog, even if they do have their logo across all of them. :)

Look how much Kaylee has changed in just a month and a half!!! She is growing waaayyy to fast.

Well, it's not really a robot game, it's a Star Wars game, and Chase loves it! We have to limit the times he can play it or he would be glued to it all day. Kaylee loves when he plays it because 1) Chase is not moving around 2) he is QUIET 3) she can lay on the bed and watch, and she LOVES watching her big brother!!!

Although Chase still won't hold Kaylee, he seems to be warming up to her a little more. She loves to lay on the floor and watch him, when he sits still long enough for her, and I think he secretly likes her attention.

Chase wasn't too excited about sharing this Elmo toy at first, he kept turning it off and saying Sorry Sister!!! But he really liked the idea of laying down with her and showing her how it works. I think Kaylee liked him laying there playing with her too!

Chase gets a home haircut

We decided to buy some clippers and start giving Chase his haircuts. He got his first home haircut the other day, and I think we did pretty good... he only got buzzed in one small place behind his ear. I'm sure we will get better with the clippers the more we do it.

I couldn't get him to smile for me after the haircut, I guess that means he didn't like it...haha

Santa came!!! We were so excited for this Christmas because it was the first one with our complete little family. Kaylee was the best gift of all this year!

We waited and waited for Chase to wake up Christmas morning, of all mornings to sleep in!! He didn't wake until almost 10 o'clock! But boy was he happy when he saw what Santa had brought...

When Nana called and asked Chase if he wanted to see Santa he said "YES!!!" He was so excited, and he usually is when he sees Santa on TV or as a yard decoration. At the Montereau,Chase seemed ready and eagerly awaited Santa's arrival...

Kaylee was eager to meet Santa too, but she was more excited for DeeDee to be feeding her...

Once Santa came out and sat down, Chase was not near as happy to see him in person, in fact he was terrified.

Nana however, was very excited to be sitting on Santa's lap.

Maybe next year Chase will do as well as Nana did. We are glad that Chase does not seem traumatized by Santa, he still gets very excited when we watch Christmas shows with Santa in them. However, we probably will not tell Chase that Santa is coming to his house on Christmas Eve, we will just let him know that is who came on Christmas day.

At 10p.m. on November 8, Danny and I headed to the hospital. My contractions were 5 minutes apart. We were monitored in triage for an hour, only for them to tell us we needed to walk around for an hour to see if I would dialate more, I was only at a 3. We walked around and before the hour was up contractions were at 2 minutes apart, we went back to triage and were almost denied being admitted again, because I was still only a 3. Luckily, they went ahead and let us go, broke my water, and the contractions hit hard. I finally got some pain meds and 4 hours later... little Kaylee Elizabeth was here.

Ahhh, an epidural, FINALLY...

As soon as she was born, they put her on my chest. It was so awesome, it brought tears to my eyes!

Carving the pumpkin!!!

Got the pumpkin all lit up!

First time to trick or treat... here we go!!!!

Such a big boy, he trick or treated all on his own!!!

Many houses in the neighborhood go all out for Halloween, this one was decorated very kid friendly and cute!!

This house wasn't quite as kid friendly as the other house. This house pretty much put an end to the trick or treating, after getting spooked by the ghosts and goblins here, Chase just kept saying "spooky" and didn't care too much about getting any more candy.

He came right in and wanted to check out all his earnings. I don't think it has ever been so easy to get him to come inside!

Pumpkin Patch 2011

We had so much fun at Pumpkin Town this year! Chase was so excited, we got there and he was saying "pumpkin patch pumpkin patch!!!" And when we left, he was saying "poooor Chase, not fair!" Because of course he wanted to stay longer. There was so much to do, from tractor rides, to little playhouses, slides, pony rides, hay mazes... it was a great day!

BRANSON 2011

We had a fun time on our annual Branson trip this year. Danny and I even got to go to dinner Friday and Saturday night... just the TWO of us! What a treat that was, we went to dinner both times at The Landing, having yummy steak the first night, and delicious mexican the second. Chase had a lot of fun this year too, he got to go on the Branson scenic railway, a train ride that went through some beautiful scenery. We also went to Silver Dollar City, and Chase got to experience some of his first amusement park rides. It was a great little getaway!!!

Branson Railway! We had great seats on the upper deck of a car where it was just a dome of glass over us, couldn't ask for better seats to see the beautiful views, and of course the tunnels coming on!

Yes, my underprivileged son celebrated his 2nd birthday with three different celebrations... But these pictures were his actual birthday celebration pictures. We had great day, in the morning he opened MORE presents, then we were off to the zoo, that evening we had dinner with DeeDee!!!

Chase is going to have another cousin in a few weeks! We celebrated Wendy and Tim's baby boy and we are so excited to meet him!

After the baby shower we had quite a few birthdays and Grampy's retirement to celebrate! There was a lot to be excited about in the month of May at the Hartman's!
Beautiful Aunt Debbie, Uncle Red, Mason, and Chase all had birthday's in May...

Chase was a little too excited about the tracks on the cake and thought he should drive his train on them...oops!

Easter 2011

On Palm Sunday, we had a nice service at our church and then the Easter bunny came for a visit and the egg hunt was on! Chase was not too sure what to think of the bunny, in fact, I don't think he thought too much for him. He pretty much ran from him whenever he got close. Little did he know it was daddy under that costume!!!

Easter morning was kind of a rainy and cold start, and unfortunately, Chase did not get to wear his cute shorts outfit that I had planned for Easter service. Oh well. After church, we headed over to Aunt Linda's for the Easter celebration! Chase had a blast!! He got an awesome Easter box from Aunt Linda and Uncle Terry, and of course there were TONS of eggs to hunt! This year we had to hunt them inside, but that didn't stop Chase... he ended up with over ten dollars of prize money from the eggs!!!

A BAD BOY, A BOO BOO, and A BIRTHDAY

The other day I found Chase in the laundry room, ON TOP of the washing machine. I couldn't believe it. I said Chase... show mommy how you did that? He said, "okay" and was so proud of himself as he showed me how he did it...

With Chase fearlessly climbing on everything, it's bound to happen for him to get hurt. This one was bad, probably worse for me than it was for Chase because I witnessed the whole fall in what seemed to be slow motion. Chase was in a chair on our back porch, when before I could even react, had stood up and was falling over backwards off the porch into the freshly laid mulch in the garden. He went face first and was literally inches from smacking his face right on a pipe that sticks out of the ground. It scared me to death!!! He was pretty tough, between sobs he kept assuring me saying "I'm okay I'm okay" and as soon as I had him cleaned up he was back in action as if nothing had happened, I however, am still traumatized.

We went to Chase's cousin Leah's 3rd birthday party in Pryor. It was a lot of fun! It was a carnival theme, and Uncle David even dressed up as a clown. Chase had a lot of fun running around with all the kids outside!

March 17th Daddy turned the big 35... he spent the day with his mini me...

We had some Senor Tequila for dinner with DeeDee and Bobo that night, and they came out to sing to Daddy with their morocco's and all sorts of noise makers,and of course the sombrero. Chase's eyes were HUGE, he didn't know what to think... he just kept yelling DADA! DADA! HAT!!! DADA!! HAT!!! It was hilarious...

NCAA Basketball

Chase, Grampy, and Daddy all went down to the BOK Center to see some of the college players practice before their big games. It's pretty cool to have some of the big games being played right here in Tulsa! I don't think Chase realized how cool it was... he was more interested in the lobby and places to run around...

Cousin Devon's birthday party

I think Chase and Devon have bonded, they both share a love for trains and you could tell that the day of their trip to Grampy's train yard! Devon had his birthday party at gymnastics city, and Chase had SOOO much fun (until they did big kid stuff...haha) Chase just followed the birthday boy around and was having a great time!

Grampy's Retirement Party!

Grampy is officially retired!!! For his last day at work, we all got to go up and celebrate and see the centennial train. It was such nice weather and was such a fun day! Chase had some of his favorite friends around, his second cousins Desteny and Mason, and his cousins Devon and Leah! It was a great time!

70 degree weather a week after negative temps... couldn't help but get outside, and where else would we go?? The zoo of course! We love our zoo friend membership!

Blizzard 2011

Snow Snow and RECORD BREAKING SNOW!!! Tulsa ended up with 14 inches, and the snow drifts could be measured in feet..forget about inches!!! Daddy went to work Monday night, the blizzard came Tuesday morning, and Daddy was trapped at work, not getting home until Wednesday night!!! We were glad Daddy made it home and could spend some time playing in the snow!!!

When I was working on Friday, Daddy decided he would take Chase to see Grampy's train. It was a beautiful day to be outside!

You think Chase is lucky just to sit on the train... well that's not all... Chase actually got to help Grampy DRIVE the train, blow the horn, and make a delivery!!!

I love the look on Chase's face here... it's like he was sneaking to blow the horn. (But I heard he was actually to afraid to blow the horn himself)

What a fun day! I am sure Chase was in heaven, seeing as how trains are just about the coolest thing ever to him. Thanks Grampy!!!

The last pictures we had taken at Sears, the photographer gave Chase some blocks to play with. He really liked them so we got him some for Christmas. The photographer had commented that she was impressed he was stacking three blocks, and said that was really good for his age.... well if she could see him stacking now!!!

Toddler Bed Tryout

We let Chase try out a toddler bed. He was having trouble sleeping, and I had the bright idea that it was because he wanted out of his crib. He wanted out of his crib alright, he just didn't want to EVER sleep, and the toddler bed made it oh so easy for that! I have come to the conclusion that for those short 3 or so hours that I let him sleep in bed with Danny and I on Christmas eve, he thought he would get to do that all the time if he cried enough. In any case, here are a few photos of his one and only night of the toddler bed. He is now back, HAPPILY, in his CRIB bed, not crying and sleeping through the whole night again.

After a fun day and a nice church service, we returned home to get ready for Santa's arrival. Christmas is getting to be SOOO much fun!!!!

Ta-daaa!!! Santa has made it to the Hartman's! Can't wait to see Chase's face when he sees all the new toys!

Chase slept good until about 1 in the morning, then he was up almost EVERY hour!!! I don't know if he was excited, or just exhausted. About the fourth wake up, I finally decided to let him sleep in bed with mom and dad (for the first time). He did pretty good and went right to sleep, although I don't think I ever did. Chase got to see Santa at Montereau during the "Merry Mingle" event. This was Chase's second time to see Santa this year, the first time (at the mall), he wanted nothing to do with Santa, but this time, he actually was ok to sit on Santa's lap...although he still looked very unsure of the whole thing...

Since we have had our house on the market, we took down the gate that blocked Chase from going out the doggie door. We have a slider that can go in the door, but don't always have it on because Lulu of course has to go out sometimes as well. Anyway, Chase has been enjoying his easy access to the backyard.

Camp Cute and Spooky

We went to Discoveryland's Camp Cute and Spooky with the Callis family. I had heard a few people tell me that this place was GREAT. Well, we had an ok time, but probably won't do this Halloween event next year, it seemed like there was a huge line for EVERYTHING. The trick or treating consisted of about five dress up characters standing in a half circle, which if Chase was older and actually cared about trick or treating, that would have been REALLY disappointing after waiting in line for so long to actually even get to the trick or treat area! They also had a petting zoo, Halloween music playing, and a few Halloween blow ups... but for the money, I give this place a thumbs down. I'm glad we tried it out though, it was super fun just being out with Nathan and his mom and dad, and the boys looked so cute in their costumes!

Shepherd's Cross Pumpkin Festival

I get an email from t-town moms every now and again, and it always gives great ideas on where to take your kids and things to do. The last one I got suggested this Shepherd's Cross pumpkin festival out in Claremore. It's a biblically based farm, where they have a garden you can go through that really has pumpkins growing! They have animal petting, a small shop, a hay maze, a hay ride, and of course.. the pumpkin patch!!!

We were excited to take Chase back to the castle this year, last year he was too little to even really know what was going on, but this year, I think he had a great time! We didn't do a whole lot there because most of it is stuff to really scare you, but we did go back to the enchanted boardwalk and I think Chase liked most of it!

We were trying to get him to pose by the skeleton, but it was a little too scary...

We made our annual trip to the Tulsa State Fair and Chase had a blast. He was much more excited about the fair this year... not only because he was older, but it was beautiful weather compared to last year's cold day...

Chase enjoyed playing in the 'kid zone' this year, he pushed cars..

Thomas the Train

Chase LOVES Thomas the Train, and when we saw that Thomas was coming to the OKC Train Museum, we knew this was something we had to do. Chase put on his Engineer outfit Grampy got him, and we headed out to meet Thomas.

Not only was Chase about to see the "real" Thomas, he got to play under a tent full of train tables and trains... it was a dream come true for Chase...

It was a pretty big challenge to get Chase to leave the train table area, and it wasn't too pretty. But that seemed to be the way it went for all the parents trying to get their child to leave that area.

There was a lot going on, Thomas shows playing on one train car, model electric trains going around in another. Other tents outside had a clown making balloon animals, and they had Thomas and friends tattoos they were putting on the kids. There was also a tent where fun music was playing and a magician performed. And the biggest event, was the ride with Thomas....

When Chase first saw Thomas, his jaw dropped, and he waved very slowly in amazement that Thomas was REALLY right in front of him....

Chase is playing with his Thomas whistle, notice his Thomas tattoo... he has Percy tattooed to his other arm... Chase also received a Junior Engineer Certificate on the train.

After our train ride we went to meet Sir Top 'em Hat, the train yard manager... I am starting to think Chase is going to follow suit with my cousin Matthew and how he feels about people in costumes...

I told Danny to try to stand him up in front of Sir Top 'em Hat, but that wasn't going to happen, Chase wasn't about to let Daddy leave him alone up there!

For our Tuesday playdate we went to the Hunter Park splash pad, now that Fall is just around the corner I am sure this will probably be our last water playdate. Chase had a BLAST with his pals Nathan and Gracie!!!!

Rockin Rib Festival

Well, we really, really tried to have a fun filled weekend, a staycation if you will, because Danny had this weekend off of work.

Friday we went to the Rogers County Fair... LAME. Did not even have one ride, game, or anything!! The highlight was the pickled foods that were judged... however you would judge a jar of pickled food.

Saturday we went to the Scottish Festival, which was fun, but SUPER hot outside. Danny found a new "lucky hat" and that was the highlight of that festival.

Sunday, we went to the Rib Festival, even with the scorching heat, we had the most fun here than we did on any of the other days. It was fun not only for the food and music, but my cousin Matt was there, and since we couldn't catch up to him to say hello, I decided to stalk him with pictures.

But first we had to eat...

When we were eating is when we first saw Matt fly by...

We knew he would be coming back so we waited and sure enough...

I yelled... Matt!! Matt!!! But it was pretty loud out there with the band playing..

Chase was getting a little restless so Daddy and Chase went to walk around while I stayed to photo stalk Matt...

He was all over the place!!!

Well, I know I won't catch up with Matt, so I guess I will find my boys and see what they are up to..

Of course, Chase's new thing..pushing the stroller everywhere...

Zoo Friend Appreciation Night

Last night the zoo had a special for all zoo friend members. They opened the zoo after hours and had free carousel and train rides, some behind the scenes of the animals, and live music. It was pretty fun!

Every year QT has a family picnic, and for the past few years it has been at Incredible Pizza. It's pretty fun, they rent out the whole place for just QT employees, give everyone $15 game cards, there is face painting, balloons, and of course the buffet... Last year Chase was still pretty small, but this year, he really enjoyed himself!!!

This is one of those simulator rides... Chase loved it, he probably rode it 6 or more times and never took his eyes off the screen!!!

Chase is really getting into the skee ball game too... probably because it involves balls...

And he drove a train, he just looks so big riding this!!!

They also had this padded "toddler" area, but some older kids invaded it... that sure didn't scare Chase off though, he was determined to hold his own on the slide and get down it...

Fun firsts for Chase

This month has FLOWN by!!! I can't believe we are already to September, it seems like it was just yesterday we were celebrating Chase turning one, now he is almost one and a HALF! These last few weeks have been full of fun firsts for Chase!

And first time to pose for a picture and last time to let Daddy be in charge of the camera since he missed the shot... he seriously sat there for at least a minute c'mon dad! :)

And the final first.... First time to the Chandler Park sunset concert. This was a lot of fun for a little while. Even Lulu got to come out with us! We brought a picnic dinner and all ate outside and listened to the music, Chase socialized and walked around and danced and was having a great time. But when the band stopped and we were waiting for the next one to start up... Chase decided that he wanted to play in the street and threw a HUGE tantrum when we wouldn't let him... so we had to leave.

2nd Anniversary Weekend Fun!!!!

This past weekend Danny and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary!! We had a full weekend of activities planned. We started out Saturday morning and headed to Claremore to go to a pancake breakfast and the Gatesway Balloon Festival. This was a total disappointment, we got there a little after 9, and they had already shut the breakfast down, which was suppose to last until 10. There were not any balloons out, due to the slight chance of rain I guess(it never rained it was just super humid). We walked around a bit anyway, and played at the playground, and I even ran into one of my old high school friends.

Chase just started sliding on his own, he gets the gist of it, but sometimes he well... just watch. You may not think it's funny, but I couldn't help but laugh... (he didn't get hurt so don't worry DeeDee)

Despite the morning being a dud, we had a super nice evening out that night with just the two of us. It was so nice to go out and have a nice dinner without feeling rushed and having food thrown everywhere. We went to McGills on the 19th floor at the Hard Rock Casino. It was really neat, and the food was soooo good.

After dinner we went downstairs to the casino, but had no luck. Oh well, we hit the jackpot when we found eachother, and no amount of money could be better than that!

Sunday was our actual anniversary, and we had a fun day planned. We went to church and then brought Chase over to DeeDee and Bobo's so he could eat some lunch and play for a little bit before he took his nap. While Chase was doing that, Danny and I went to a movie... yes a movie at the REAL movie theater!!! It was such a treat, we had popcorn and all. We saw The Other Guys, and I highly recommend it was sooo funny!

After the movie we headed back to get Chase, who was still napping, after he woke up, we had plans for a family outing to Chuck E Cheese!!! We had a blast, Chase is just so much fun... well Danny is too, but Chase is a bonus for sure...haha

First we had some dinner... Chase had two plates of cottage cheese, one plate was on his face and outfit, and the other plate he may have actually got in his mouth...

Chase climbs on the couch and all of our chairs all the time, so we decided that maybe he would enjoy a chair more his size. We went to the store and put out an Elmo chair and a car chair and let Chase pick which one he liked better. He didn't even give the car chair a thought, he started out just patting the Elmo chair. We asked him if he was sure, and he literally picked the Elmo chair up all by himself and headed to the check out stand... The strength of Chase never ceases to amaze me.

***Chase has one bottle a day, the bottle before bed. We are going to stop that cold turkey on August 1st!! I hope all goes well, it seems to be part of his bedtime routine right now, maybe he will adjust to a night time sippy cup...

We took Chase to see Storytime LIVE the other night. He LOVED it. He recognized all the music and sat on our laps just bouncing and dancing!!! It was too cute. But I am really bummed because after our meal at McDonald's, the camera's batteries were dead, and I did not have a spare to put in. So we didn't get any pictures of Dora, Ni-Hao Kai-lan, Wonder Pets, The Backyardigans, OR Moose and Zee!!! I tried to take a few on the cell phone, but it just looked like some glowing people on stage without a flash to use. Oh well. So here are the two pictures at McDonald's, Chase ate his first hamburger Happy Meal, he usually gets chicken nuggets.
