Pumpkin Carving!!! Happy Halloween!!!!

Our Friday fun this week was to carve our pumpkins! Chase thought it was pretty cool, probably more so that he was in the middle of the table, therefore the center of attention (like he's not the center of attention most of the time).

We cut the top off and asked Chase what he thought about pulling out pumpkin guts...

He seemed pretty happy about that idea, so we let him have at it...

I don't think he quite knew what to think about all the slime, but he examined it for a while...

I pulled out a lot of the guts I like the slime!!

Then the carving began. Chase LOVES a character on Nick Jr called Moose A. Moose. Every time this weird looking Moose comes on, or if he just hears his voice, Chase smiles huge and zones onto the the tv. They had stencils of Moose A. Moose on the Nickelodeon website, so Daddy carved Chase a Moose pumpkin...

Chase was so excited, but it took a little while to get it done, so in the meantime Chase read his Halloween cards from DeeDee and Bobo and from Nanny and Poppy, thank you for sending the cards!! Chase was excited to get his own mail...

At last the pumpkins are done... a Moose A. Moose and of course... a Denver Bronco. I originally picked out the bigger pumpkin, but I sacrificed the big pumpkin so Chase could have a bigger Moose... the things we do for our kids. :)

For Halloween, we went down to the Brookside area for some Boohaha. There were a MILLION kids out there. Our church had the best place to trick or treat with free pony rides and a petting zoo. Next year Chase will have a blast with that. For Boohaha Chase wore his pirate hat and socks, then when it warmed up in the afternoon, he put on the Batman outfit Grampy had gotten for him and we went to hand out candy with DeeDee and Bobo while Daddy got some sleep before he went to work.

Star Wars in Concert

So we didn't really have a anything going yesterday for our family Friday... we all stayed home together and that was nice. However, we did have some fun this last week! Tuesday evening Danny and I went to see 'Star Wars in Concert' It was pretty cool. The 'soul' of C3P0 was the narrator, and he did an excellent job. And the orchestra was wonderful. They also had some of the original costumes from Star Wars on display in the lobby. It was a great evening.

C3P0

An Ewok!

Chewbacca

Darth Vader

There was quite the crowd trying to see the Darth Vader costume...

Finally got a closer look, but someones head was still in the way...

Here I am barely escaping an explosion!

Classic Star Wars theme song. The orchestra did a great job, and it was a really cool show.

Cracking up with the cousins!

Chase was having hysterics at his cousins! He just loves being around and watching other little kids... especially his cousins Ella, Devon and Leah!

Here is the laughing with Ella and Leah as the entertainers:

Chase was cracking up at Devon too!

Family Friday Fun at the Pumpkin Patch!!

Today Chase is 5 months old!!! Happy 5 months baby boy!

For our Friday fun we went to the Pumpkin Town with cousins Ella, Devon and Leah, Aunt Jill, DeeDee and Bobo, and Chase's second cousin Mandy! It was a nice day to be out after such a rainy and dreary week!

Daddy's ready to go find a pumpkin!

DeeDee looking for a perfect pumpkin with the grandkids...

Chase found his perfect pumpkin!

Bobo got us some tickets to go on the tractor ride around the pumpkins!

Chase just loves his Mandy, he sticks with her like glue...

Then he fell asleep in her arms..

What a fun day!

Peas, Giggles, Feet and Clowns

For Chase's next food, we gave him peas. I hate peas. Maybe this was a learned reaction from my brother, when we were younger he threw up (literally) when asked to eat just one little pea. I think he may have made them seem so incredibly disgusting that I have just taken his word for it all these years and have never attempted to like them. I really tried not to make faces when feeding the dreaded, stinky, gross peas to Chase, however it just happened, and Chase found it quite amusing...

He couldn't stop giggling when I was pretending to gag about the peas. He's such a ham, he was laughing but had to keep looking at the camera, he loves the camera...

The other morning I was laying in bed listening to Chase talk to himself. Every morning he wakes up talking, he really is such a happy boy. Anyway, soon it gets quiet and I could hear something randomly hitting the mattress HARD. I thought it may have been his head, he has been known to slam his head back and forth when he is trying to get to sleep. When I got up to check it out this is what I found....

FEET... strait up in the air, then slamming down onto the bed. It was so hilarious to me, after he slammed them down, it would be a second, then you would see the feet slowly lifting up again and he would hold them in the air for a minute and then BAM!! Down they would go again... I stood there watching cracking up inside, I wish I could have gotten a video, but it would have been way to dark, and I'm sure if he knew I was videoing him, he would have just stared at the camera... oh well, at least I got the picture.

We went to visit Chase's Great Gramma on Sunday and Chase cashed in on some ancient stuffed animals that mommy will never let him play with. (No offense to you Gramma, it was SUPER sweet of you) Who knows how long Gramma has had these stuffed things, two of the animals were more like cardboard animals with felt on them...very interesting.
And then there were two CLOWNS. I know that my husband has a huge fear of clowns (and so does my Aunt Suzy). So I decided to have a little fun with them... couldn't resist. Below... the clown accomplices...

The one on the left, the scarier one, could be used as a mobile Gramma informed me. Now taking Chase to the Haunted Castle and letting him hear the "your next" recording I thought was going to scare him enough, but if I put this clown over his bed for him to wake up to, I think that would give him night terrors for sure!! So instead, I tied it above Danny and I's bedroom door while he was asleep, so when he came out of the bedroom the face would be right there! I know, I am so mean...lol... but I couldn't resist. I stood waiting as soon as I heard him getting up...

He said he didn't see it, but by his reaction, I think I may have frightened him a little... I had the other clown waiting on the back of the toilet to greet him when he went to the bathroom...lol
Danny wasn't the only one I forced my clown fun on. Like I said, my Aunt Suzy is also not a fan of clowns... She also has issues with the song by Petula Clark.."Downtown" that's another story that I could tell another day, but I sent her a nice text message with a recording of my singing the song Downtown and a close up...

Chase may not have gotten to enjoy the clowns, but I sure had some fun with them!!! Thanks Gramma!

Family Fun Friday at the Fair!!

For our Friday fun this week, we went to the fair with Grampy Grimmace.

(we needed someone to take this picture so I could have been the pink ice cream!)

We tried to spend most of the time in the buildings looking around since it was a pretty chilly day, but it was fun to get all bundled up.

Here is Grampy showing Chase some animals...

I think Chase was a little jealous of these animals and their food, since mommy brought bottles but forgot to pack formula. Oops!

Here is Chase trying to figure out how this man's legs got sooooo long! (too bad I cut off his head in the picture!)

Grampy was caught! Couldn't resist the chocolate covered bacon! That's ok, Bobo couldn't turn down the fried twinkie last weekend when we went to the fair...

Here is a picture of Bobo watching the Bobo from last Saturday at the fair..

And Bobo pushing the stroller around the fair while Chase took a little snooze...

Chase snoozed for most of the time on both visits to the fair. I probably would have taken a little nap myself if someone was pushing me around and I was all reclined in a comfy stroller. Especially today when he was all bundled up with a soft blanket... I was a little envious. :)

Carrots and Green Beans and Sweet Potatoes... OH MY!!!

Chase has gotten to start on his vegetables! I think he is pretty excited about that... and he thought he loved formula and rice cereal! First we gave him some carrots, he liked them but nothing like he liked the green beans.. which kind of surpised me. He had total bird mouth with the green beans, then he tried the sweet potatoes and WHOA... the arms were shaking, the mouth was open, and he wanted to help me shovel that into his mouth!!! (Sorry the videos are a little dark... they looked good on the camera! For the next food firsts we will make sure the room is brighter!)

Halloween Festival

Halloween is this month, and Chase is pumped and ready! For our Family Fun Friday this week we took Chase for his first visit to Casa Bonita and then we went to the Halloween Festival in Muskogee. Before we left I took a few pictures of Chase in a tiger costume that my friend Tina gave us. What a cute little Tiger!

Here is a quick video of Chase at Casa Bonita, he talked the WHOLE time, I think he liked the place. You can't really see him in this video, but you can definitely hear him!!!

After Casa Bonita, we headed for the Halloween Festival.

Chase was dressed as a pirate!

There was only a few things for Chase to do, we took him on the "enchanted boardwalk" which was a wooded area with over 200 inflatable Halloween decorations. It was pretty cute! I think I may have been more into it than both my boys...ha!

Chase got his picture with some fellow pirates...

Elmo...

Then the Enchanted Boardwalk started getting scary!

Scary Ghost!

And the scary voice that Chase was so brave listening to.. (we probably scarred him for life!)
